This white paper discusses the challenges of application integration between various line-of-business applications and describes the features message queuing middleware (MQM) products such as Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ). Using MQM, components communicate with each other as a series of messages. Messages can contain any data that is understood by both sender and receiver, such as a request for information or a response. While in transit between components, MQM services keep messages in holding areas called queues - hence the name message queuing middleware.
