The complete e-Charlemagne online teaching platform was developed using the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET environment. In less than nine months, from April to December 2001, more than 1 million code lines were written by this e-learning software publisher's computer engineers. CEO Antoine Dubost explains how the speed of the developments and their re-use capacity were a major benefit to the project. Géraldine Blanc, a program analyst, describes the characteristics of the C# language and the Microsoft .NET tools. It was a successful gamble: today, more than 10,000 people are taught remotely using e-Charlemagne's services.
