VediorBis Innovations helps companies retain staff by offering a software-based solution to skills management. When it chose a development environment for the backbone of its business, the company moved away from its JAVA roots and implemented Microsoft Visual Studio .NET instead. Visual Studio .NET provided a one-stop-shop for its development needs, rapid application development technology, and an environment in which development standards could be enforced. By adding the CAST Application Mining Suite, it then automated the enforcement of development standards and further ensured agile development. With this technology in place, the company built a new Web-based application from the ground up in just six months—an estimated 50 percent increase in developer productivity—and the solution remains nimble enough to release new versions of the software every three months.
