Holmes Place plc is a leading premium health club chain running Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 at its London-based head office. SharePoint is enabling staff in the marketing, HR, finance and IS departments to find, share and publish information to a portal website. It is part of the Microsoft .NET platform and family of servers using XML web services which enable organizations to access information anytime, anywhere from any device. From January 2002, Holmes Place will be rolling out the solution to its entire UK health clubs, followed by those in continental Europe. Instead of having to hunt around for information, staff can access training manuals, forms, policies and procedures, job vacancies and other club information at the click of a mouse. The portal is being implemented by IT consultancy Core, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.
