Peters Elworthy and Moore (PEM) is a thriving UK chartered accountancy practice based in offices in Cambridge and Saffron Walden, offering a range of audit and other business services. Early in 2000, PEM’s IT department was worried that its ageing network was not providing the necessary level of performance for the business. The introduction of Microsoft Exchange 2000 for improved personal productivity through integrated email, contacts and scheduling, was a clear requirement. It was also decided to upgrade some of the line of business applications –PEM wanted the new SQL Server version of Viztopia’s practice management software.
