BEC: Securities Trading Solution Provider Chooses Windows over Linux as Better Bet for Future

BEC is an IT center operated as a cooperative by and for 32 banks and financial services firms throughout Denmark and the Nordic region. BEC’s Trading System is a mission-critical interface between securities dealers and the Nordic Exchanges. But the solution, based on IBM OS/2, didn’t have a future upgrade path. After considering Linux, BEC is now migrating to the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server family of operating systems. BEC expects the solution to take advantage of features such as clustering and Group Policy settings-not available in Linux.
