Interface Concept’s ‘Cometh’, non-blocking, fully managed Ethernet switch family support SNMP and web-based browser management, creating a complete network management solution. Originally designed as a 6U form factor VME board, the latest product in the family has recently been developed in the open architecture cPCI hardware format, supported mainly by MontaVista’s Hard Hat Linux operating system. MontaVista Linux was able to very significantly improve upon the reliability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness of the web server platform compared to what Interface Concept could obtain from proprietary development platforms like pSOS and VRTX.
