This white paper provides a method of using eTrust Intrusion Detection at large sites. The paper provides an approach to traffic load-balancing that complies with standard network procedures. The load-balancing method described in this paper is based on hardware switches proved by Top Layer. The switches accept input from one-to-many sources and filter the input by protocol and application. The load-balanced traffic is then sent to one or many clients. The traffic is evenly balanced based on the number of sessions divided by the number of clients.
