Statistics New Zealand (Te Tari Tatau) is a government department and the country's major source of official statistics. They needed email content filtering that would allow them to block threats and known viruses as well as monitor and enforce email usage policy. .A small number of minor but indicative incidents convinced the organization that it would take only one email (whether intentional or not) to place the organization's security or reputation at risk. Implementing content filtering and email notifications played major factor in changing email usage behavior. Policy is now at the forefront of people's minds and they consider more carefully what they send. The volume of non-work related email and the risks created by inappropriate content have been dramatically reduced. As a consequence, the risk to reputation has also been reduced.
