A lot of emphasis has been placed on developing XML web service applications that are consumed by and exposed by .NET applications. However, Office XP also has significant aptitude with web service integration. This session focuses on teaching you how to develop Office XP applications that consume existing web services. Emphasis will be placed on showing how you can easily interact with existing web services using the Office XP Web Services Toolkit from a variety of Office XP applications. We'll take a look at the creation of .NET Web Services with Visual Studio.NET and then dive more deeply into how to consume web services from Office XP. We'll see how to integrate multiple web services across the Office Suite. This will be accomplished by showing the capabilities of the Office XP Web Services Toolkit like of the Web Services References Tool. We'll incorporate a web service into an existing Word mail merge application. Next, we'll store data retrieved from a .NET Web Service locally in an Access database. To conclude this session, we'll explore a complex Office XP Application that integrates multiple office applications together with a .NET Web Service.
