Microsoft relies heavily on partners to reach and service its customers. Microsoft needed an integrated solution for partner relationship management. Partner account managers were using personal spreadsheets and custom tools to manage partner data, which made it difficult to share information. Microsoft deployed PartnerCentral, a hosted solution based on the Allegis eBusiness Suite that uses XML and standard Web protocols to integrate with Microsoft's internal systems, ensuring consistent information among systems and seamlessly extending the data in PartnerCentral to users of other enterprise applications. Now Microsoft and its partners have a single tool for managing all aspects of the Microsoft/partner relationship.
