KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is a major global airline with its homebase in Schiphol, the Netherlands, near Amsterdam. To increase cargo handling efficiency, the operators of the moving truckdocks required on-line connection to the AS/400 system. PC based terminals based in the cabins located on the ting platforms use ORiNOCO to connect to the Token Ring network. ORiNOCO wireless access to the Token Ring network enables staff to access the AS/400 miniserver from the controller cabin on the moving platforms. This capability enables production associates on the receiving dock to log cargo events on the fly. Automation using ORiNOCO has increased the overall efficiency.
