Established in 1872, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, also known as VA Tech, is among the top 50 Research Institutions in the United States. Acer configured two notebooks and desktops that met the school's requirements. They bid along with ten other PC vendors and manufacturers. Acer was the only company to offer a wireless notebook. Acer was able to win the VA Tech University Bookstore business by offering the value, features and on-site support that the school was looking for.
