PHT Corporation provides Web-based data capture and control systems for managing clinical trials. To help its customers accelerate clinical trials timeframes, PHT Corporation needed a way for patients to enter data at the moment an event occurred. Input had to be so quick and easy it would become part of daily activities instead of an afterthought. PHT customers at 420 test sites in 25 countries are using the company's Palm IIIxe-based LogPad to improve clinical trial data collection. The PHT-developed application has a graphical interface for data entry with the touch of a pen, and automatically time stamps all input. LogPads can be programmed to accept only requested input and to prevent fields being left blank, making data collected from large numbers of patients more consistent and easier to manage and analyze.
