TriHealth is an integrated health system based in Cincinnati, Ohio providing services to communities in the tri-state area of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. TriHealth chose VPN hardware that was compatible with RSA SecurID authentication: the Cisco Systems VPN 3002 Hardware Client Box, supported by Cisco 3030 VPN Concentrators. TriHealth is using RSA Keon public key infrastructure (PKI) software. In a PKI environment, users are issued an encryption key that they keep private, and a second 'public' key that is made available to the other party. For TriHealth, the move to a broadbandbased VPN has been an unqualified success, offering vast improvements in throughput.
