EMI Music Distribution (EMD), the distribution arm of EMI Recorded Music, wanted to capitalize on these vast music assets and propel the company to the forefront of the digital music revolution. EMD needed to ensure that all of its existing and newly created musical assets and artwork would be available digitally. EMI had the vision and strategy, but wanted to leverage a partner with world class experience in both technology and business process improvements to enable the authorized and effective distribution of EMI's music products to retailers. Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft teamed with EMD to deliver a solution comprised of two application systems that support the company's digital music distribution strategy. With numerous Internet-related deals established and a large part of EMI's musical archive now digitized, EMI Recorded Music is well positioned to distribute its digital assets’ anywhere, anytime, in any digital format.
