In today's knowledge-driven economy, the ability to provide employees, partners, and customers with accurate and timely access to information and applications is paramount to the success of any business. Many popular new business applications have emerged to meet this requirement, including Web-enabled enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, corporate portals, e-learning, and online video conferencing. However, these new applications have also brought challenges of their own because infrastructure and resources must be available to support the applications, placing additional loads on both the corporate network and the IT team. Many companies have addressed these challenges by implementing an Enterprise Content Delivery Network (ECDN). ECDNs combine storage, content delivery, and content management technologies into a solution that scales a company's existing infrastructure and IT resources. This paper validates the business benefits and determines the return on investment (ROI) of Network Appliance's ECDN solution.
