This paper describes XMLBus, the Web service integration technology that is included in the Iona's Orbix E2A e-Business Platform. Web Services are XML representations of programs, objects, messages, or documents that are programmatically accessible over the Internet for direct application-to-application interaction. XMLBus Edition lets developers create Web services from existing applications, including existing Java Classes, EJBs and CORBA objects. XMLBus Edition provides a wizard-driven design tool that guides the user through the process of converting a Web service into a process flow task. And XMLBus Edition is integrated with IONA's Process Engine, which enables coordination of various business activities and Web services to integrate multiple activities into a single executable business process.
