This white paper examines the features of these Extended Management Pack (XMP) modules for UNIX servers and discusses the benefits of deploying the appropriate module as part of your operations management system. These modules will include XMP for Sun Solaris, XMP for Red Hat Linux, XMP for HP-UX, and XMP for IBM AIX, as well as modules that cover UNIX-based applications and databases. All of these modules use native agents installed on UNIX servers to gather server health information and forward that information to MOM.
