This paper proposes a QoS control architecture that designs and controls network resource assignments (including path, bandwidth and buffer assignment) in order to provide the network-wide QoS appropriate to each services requirement. This architecture consists of a QoS server, a policy server, a directory server, and a monitoring server. The QoS server receives the network monitoring information from the monitoring server, and calculates the resource assignment appropriate to the service requested by the operator or applications.
