Over the years, monitor manufacturers have been able to gradually flatten CRTs, creating display options such as the dot trio flat square and aperture grille CRT. However, it was not until the development and manufacture of flat aperture grille CRTs that the industry was able to overcome the inherent CRT drawbacks and offer consumers a level of performance comparable to reading off a sheet of paper. This paper discusses how CRT was developed and explains the working of the same.
