Software applications play a key role in realizing the Mobile Internet PC by helping overcome mobile PC platform challenges in both the power and data communications areas. This session discusses these challenges in detail as they relate to application software development. Specific software techniques are outlined that enable applications developers to enhance applications for mobility. These include enabling applications with power vs. performance trade-off options, avoiding common power wasting pitfalls, surviving wake/sleep/wake transitions and providing application robustness when sending and receiving remote data. Demonstration mobility applications and mobility application development tools will also be discussed. This session is targeted towards application software developers and mobile product planners.
