There has always been a love-hate relationship between the manufacturers of products and their distribution partners. As long as manufacturers/suppliers focused on their core competence the manufacturing of high quality products, and distributors focused on their sales, marketing, and logistics, the two thrived. Yet, occasionally a manufacturer/supplier tries (usually unsuccessfully) to bypass the distributor and sell directly to the end user. Read this article for an interesting insight.
