TimeFinder software creates multiple, independently addressable online Business Continuance Volumes (BCVs) for information storage. This white paper discusses TimeFinder's capabilities running on a supported host attached to a Symmetrix system. It provides an introduction to using the attach, query, and verify operations in the TimeFinder environment, and focuses on using: symmir attach to specify a preferred BCV match for a given standard device from among multiple BCV devices in a device group; symmir detach to undo a preferred BCV match for a given standard device; symmir query to display the state of one or more BCV pairs in the device group; symmir verify to verify whether one or all BCV pairs in a device group are in a specified state.
