The goal of this white paper is to leverage existing SAP business logic and make it generally available using Web Services technology. To achieve this objective, Adapters for Application Server software will be used and thanks to it portability, the integration path will be shown using IBM WebSphere Application Server and Sybase Enterprise Application Server. This white paper will explain two scenarios. In one hand, IBM Web Sphere Application Server will be a Web Service provider, and will expose a service to get a list of customers from a SAP ERP, this list will be retrieved in an EJB hosted by Sybase Enterprise Application Server. In the other scenario, Sybase Enterprise Application Server will be the Web Service provider and will expose a service to update customer information in the same SAP ERP. IBM Application Server will be this time a web service client. These scenarios will be explained on a step by step approach.
