LOUIS is a technology developed by Softis hf that provides a simple and efficient separation between graphical user interface (GUI) front-ends and business logic written in traditional programming languages. LOUIS enables Cobol, RPG, Perl and Java developers to use Visual Basic, Delphi, Java, HTML and other GUI development systems to develop GUI front-ends for their Cobol, RPG, Perl and Java applications. A GUI front-end can both be used locally for an application that runs on the same computer as the front-end, and also remotely, for a server application that runs on some other computer, either on the internet or on an intranet.
