itself rather than on a network server or in a separate management application. Locating management
services in devices placed within the storage network provides several concrete advantages for network
managers, including more efficient data management; integration with network
“framework ” management tools; easier installation, diagnostics and troubleshooting; and enhanced security and data availability. The Scalar 10K, a high-capacity, SAN-enabled tape library from ADIC, is the first
