Recent Frame Relay Forum specifications allow the "binding" of multiple circuits into a single logical circuit. In the MOREnet network environment, this would allow customers with multiple T1 frame relay circuits to get the consistent bandwidth and characteristics of a larger circuit, much like Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA). MOREnet would be able to build 1.6 to 10 Mbps circuits in areas of the state where simple T1 or frame relay is available without requiring ATM. The current MOREnet solution in this environment uses additional processor resources in the core routers to load balance individual connections. The multi-link frame relay technology is promising, and a small but growing list of vendors have implemented the standards.
