Enterprise Application Integration (eAI) streamlines cross-functional business processes by enabling the open flow of information between systems, across organizations, and between enterprises. In the process eAI creates a shared infrastructure for the enterprise that makes information from multiple sources easily accessible and actionable: bridging legacy and Web applications, connecting networks and computer systems, and supporting flows of information of all types across functional and geographic boundaries. Because eAI is business-process based, chemical companies that choose to deploy eAI instill their business processes with increased flexibility, efficiency and speed, characteristics that are valued in any economic circumstance, but especially now.
