This whitepaper explains the basics of Leased Lines and is dedicated to understand the concept of various kinds of Leased Lines clearing all misconceptions.

A Leased Line is a dedicated circuit, in “Always ON “ mode, that is fully owned by the customer, ie, it is ready for data transfer all the time and the circuit is dedicated for use by a particular customer only. It is used by medium to large corporates whether finance, banking, telecom, IT, ISP or any other industry, for reliable, efficient and fast data transfer.

Unlike Dial-up connections in which each time a connection has to be made by dialing the Remote server, the Leased Line is in always on mode, ie, ready to transfer data any time without the need of dialing anywhere and establishing the connection prior to data transfer. So, in case of Leased Lines, there is no need to worry about disconnections, line conjestion bandwidth problems.
