The dilemma of composing a cross-cultural code of computer ethics is discussed, reviewing the complex interplay of the linguistic and cultural factors involved, as well as other often-conflicting philosophical arguments in the debate. Ethics is moral philosophy. Moral philosophy is concerned in part with shared beliefs. Beliefs are thoughts considered being true. Thoughts are expressed in natural language. If the latter premise in this deconstructive chain of reasoning is a valid one, does it also mean that language itself can affect thinking?
