Microsoft Office 2000 for Windows includes macro signing technology, enabling developers to digitally sign their macros.
Once macros have been signed they cannot be altered without breaking the digital signature. This allows developers to distribute macros over the Internet or via email without risking the insertion of malicous code or viruses.
