The industry hot topic is the specification of future cabling performance categories Questions and conjecture as to how the standards development bodies will address next generation cabling abound. As a result of continued ISO/IEC and TIA working group efforts, the industry has taken decisive steps to determine the future cabling standards.
During the meeting of SC 25/WG 3 in Munich, the following objectives were established for the development of balanced cabling specifications for frequencies beyond 100 MHz. The TIA PN-3727 UTP Systems Task Group later adopted these objectives for their category 6 development activities.
