Engineering analysis and design has been vastly enhanced through computational power and the strength of Finite Element Method (FEM) algorithms, resulting in the mistaken assumption among engineers that most advanced analysis implies esoteric mathematical concepts and days of equation manipulation. FEM has become an industry standard for areas such as mechanical design and fluid dynamics simulation.
