This is the e-business “promise.” The impact of e-business is reverberating through corporate executive suites worldwide. Starting as a technology phenomenon, the Internet has transformed the business world, with the technology-equipped customer as king. This new e-business customer—consumer or business—has tremendous marketplace clout. New businesses are being created every day to meet the growing demand for new levels of service, personalization and responsiveness. Established brick-and-mortar corporations are putting millions of dollars into e-commerce Web sites that allow customers to configure and order products online.
