The High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) is a DTE/DCE interface developed by Cisco Systems and T3plus Networking to address the need for high-speed communication over WAN links. The HSSI specification is available to any organization wanting to implement HSSI. The goals of this document are - 1. Discuss the history and standards of HSSI. 2. Explain the technical specifications of HSSI. 3. Describe the benefits of employing HSSI. 4. Discuss how HSSI operates.
