For many IT organizations, the next area of focus will be the development of consolidated storage area networks (SANs). Central to today’s SAN is the switching of Fibre Channel connections between the storage system and application servers. IDC interviewed a sample of current users of McDATA switching products and services. These IT managers reported a variety of benefits enabled by their SANs.
