Exabyte’s M2™ is the only tape drive in its class with native fibre connectivity. This new tape technology combines with Exabyte’s world-class automation to provide the industry with a low-cost, high-capacity, high-throughput solution for use in SANs (Storage Area Networks). Major benefits of the M2 Fibre Channel solution are cost savings, Reliability and data integrity, Scalability, Server-less backup (E-copy) and faster, more efficient backup. Traditional tape drive solutions accommodate fibre connectivity using routers to convert from fibre to SCSI. However, routers are expensive, can cause a performance bottleneck, and do not take full advantage of all the benefits of native fibre connectivity.
