General DataComm’s internetworking expertise gives a range of ways to consolidate branch office resources and provision new services. We have recently added the Metroplex 6000, a super-intelligent access multiplexer, that provides integrated voice and data access and distributed voice and data to the desktop. With full standards-based T1 compatibility and an E1/G.703 interface planned in subsequent releases, the Metroplex is a single-ended, public network access device that replaces older “channel bank” technology with a fresh, new approach. A corporation looking for voice and data integration, an LEC seeking new provisioning opportunities over traditional or up-and-coming technologies, or a utility upgrading to fiber are only a few of the customers Metroplex can benefit.
