This white paper, shows how Microsoft® Windows® Services for UNIX 2.0 simplifies the management of network passwords. In heterogeneous networks with both Windows-based and UNIX-based computers, different mechanisms are used to authenticate users. Maintaining different passwords on two systems is a hassle for users and an administrative burden as well when passwords need to be changed or reset. The Password Synchronization feature makes it easy for Windows and UNIX users to use the same password on both systems.
