Tape is dead, reads the sign carried by the bearded man in robe and sandals as the year 2000 approaches. Like numerous doomsday predictions we will see in 1999, this one is also wrong. It is interesting to note that there have been three waves of predictions regarding the demise of tape over the last forty years. With the exploding use of the Windows NT operating system for small networks, Benchmark products will be uniquely positioned to deliver a cost effective solution for mission critical applications to productivity minded customers.
