Search Engines are one of the most widely used resources on the World Wide Web. The ability of a web page to be found by search engines can be a major factor in determining how many people visit a website. Therefore, designing your website to produce good results from search engines is important. By understanding what a search engine is looking for, you can design your web page in a more 'search engine friendly' manner. However even with this knowledge, you cannot guarantee to appear at the top of every search engine’s results. It is strongly recommended that other approaches be used to supplement search engines to bring traffic to your website. Search engines are often the first place a web-user will go to when searching for information on the World Wide Web. For a business, this means that if they wish to have a highly visible net presence, they need their website to be located by users using a search engine.
